Dear Bill,

I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the progress of the “Back Revolution” in the “Stretch and Flexibility” Program here at PG&E.

On March 23, 1992, the Los Padres Division Safety Committee created the “Stretch and Flexibility” program. Its goal was to prevent back injuries (the number on cause of all workman’s compensation cases) and to reduce stress in the workplace. The “Back Revolution” was chosen by the committee to address these concerns.

To date, the “Back Revolution” is in place at all four of the electric transmission and distribution service yard. The feedback from the employees has been very positive.

The “Stretch and Flexibility” program has helped address employee health needs and also has shown that PG&E Company has been progressive in identifying health concerns and addressing them in a positive manner.

As I stated in the letter of January 29, 1993, we hope to expand the “Stretch and Flexibility” program to other PG&E facilities in the future.

Thank you for your continued help and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Michael Lara

Chairman, Stretch and Flexibility Program

Dear Bill:

It has been a while since I had a chance to dialogue with you regarding our exercise objectives here on campus.

I wanted to take some time to thank you again for making the back revolution available and to tell you it has been very useful in introducing trunk extension exercises for our patients.

The newly modified handles, which are now higher, are much more convenient and the injected foam in the support pad is also much more comfortable for patients compared to other similar devices. Specifically, standard foam results in too much compression in the anterior thigh and results in partial occlusion of the femoral arterial pulse. The material used for the back revolution does not seem to cause this same complaint in patients who use it for lumbar extension purposes and so it is tolerated much more easily.

Thanks again for your help and for your willingness to make this available in our rehabilitation facility.

If you ever have any additional questions regarding new ideas or modifications for this device, I would be happy to assist you if I can.

Sincerely

David E. Stude, M.S., D.C., C.S.C.S., C.C.S.P.

Testimonial

Prior to my 4:00 am workouts, I regularly use The Back Revolution which helps to take pressure off of my lower back, enabling me to begin exercising more effectively. The Back Revolution has become an indispensable piece of equipment in my own gym.
